A Beginners guide to basic "E-smoking" terminology
Analog : The term e-smokers give to traditional tobacco cigarettes. Analog vs. digital !
Battery : This is the power source of your electronic smoking device. It is the main body of the Onlyecig Electronic Cigarette. Some devices use rechargeable lithium ion batteries, others are disposable.
Atomizer: This is the portion of the electronic smoking device that heats the e-liquid and turns it into vapor. It acts like a small heating element.
Cart / Cartridge : The cartridge contains a polyester fill material , which holds the e-liquid, prior to being vaporized by the atomizer. In many models this serves as the mouthpiece.
E-liquid / E-juice / Smoke Juice: This is the liquid used to fill cartridges, it contains water, flavoring and nicotine. This liquid provides vapor , flavor and varying amounts of nicotine to the user.
mg Strength : This relates to how much nicotine is in the e-liquid, measured in milligrams.
PG : This is an abbreviation for propylene glycol. This is the ingredient in e-liquid that produces vapor.
VG : This is an abbreviation for vegetable glycerine. This is an alternate ingredient in some e-liquid formulas, used to create a slightly thicker vapor.
Drip / Dripping : This is a method where the e-liquid is dripped directly onto the atomizer.
It also refers to applying e-liquid to the cartridge fill material.
Vaping : The term used for “e-smoking”, an alternate word for “smoking”.
PV : This is an abbreviation for personal vaporizer. A “personal vaporizer” is another term for an e-smoking device.
USB Charger : A battery charger that plugs into the computer.
USB Pass Through : A great handy device ! It is an alternate to a battery, it plugs directly into the usb port of a computer, allowing continual e-smoking without a battery.
